WORKING DOCUMENT FOR VEGETABLE

The organization has deemed vegetable farming as one of the most lucrative business in farming. Vegetable production can be said to be both annual and perennial, because it can easily fit into any of the cropping systems.

In as much vegetable farming is lucrative, it is also dicey if proper planning and implementation is not put in place. We lost about 1.8million naira in 2018 as a result of low technical-know-how and difficulties in accessing water for the farm.

The organization has strived to revisit the project in 2019 making sure that mistakes are not repeated.

Vegetables is of two types fruit and leafy vegetables, as for the present time we would involves ourselves in fruit vegetables taking Cucumber and Tomatoes as vegetables project we would be embarking on for 2019.

The organization has reserved 1.5hectares of farmland for vegetable farming in 2019, which we hope it will be fully utilized for maximum production. We have two source of water on the farm.

Ø Borehole

The borehole is meant to serve the whole 1.5ha, but we by the borehole drillers that we would need another borehole and a bigger tank that will serve the farm optimally.
